My husband and I didn’t have a big, fancy wedding or a dreamy honeymoon. It wasn’t that we didn’t want to, but let’s be honest—those things are so expensive! Instead, we kept it simple. We didn’t need all the bells and whistles to say “I do.”
Now, do I wish I had a fairytale story to share with you? Sure. But our story feels more like a mashup of every Taylor Swift song ever written. Cue the “…screamin’, fightin’, and kissin’ in the rain…” moments. Through all the ups and downs, one thing has kept us together: love. It’s simple, but it’s powerful—and it’s what’s carried us through 8 years of marriage. 💕
One day, we plan to renew our vows, have our dream wedding, and maybe (or maybe not) go on a honeymoon. By now, we might be a little past that stage—but never say never, right? Something that might surprise you, though, is that we’ve never taken a trip together. Crazy, I know. So, for our anniversary, we decided it was finally time to change that. We packed our bags, headed for the mountains, locked the doors, and threw away the key (lbs). And let me tell you—we’re so glad we did!
We ended up in the coziest little cabin in Gatlinburg. It was woodsy, charming, and smelled like apples (my favorite scent!), which instantly made me fall in love with the space. The secluded vibe gave us time to reconnect, and the hot tub? The perfect romantic touch. 🥰
